Ribera Health y Shuttle They have selected three new startups in the healthcare field to help them finish defining their platforms and applications together with healthcare professionals and to test their projects with real patients. Is about tucuvi, Legitimate health y freedom and flow, which apply artificial intelligence and the analysis and treatment of data to the care of chronic and acute patients, the treatment and monitoring of skin diseases and also in the field of the physical and emotional well-being of citizens, even before they are detect pathology.
The selection of these three startups is part of the program Corporate, which is part of the strategic agreement between Ribera Salud and Lanzadera that seeks to promote open innovation and help the consolidation and growth of startups that create value in the healthcare field. With this agreement, the startups will develop a pilot for eight months with the aim of implementing their services within the company.
In this way, innovation applied to healthcare is advancing at a greater speed, to complement the line of work carried out by the technological subsidiary of Ribera Salud, FutuRS, and always seeking to improve patient care and facilitate the processing of data that help professionals make the best decisions.
Of the more than 100 applications initially presented in this second edition, 40 went on to the phase of interviews and in-depth analysis of the project and its teams. Six pre-selected startups remained which, after a day of work and presentations in Lanzadera last June, three projects were chosen to finish defining and testing in the Ribera Salud centers.
Tucuvi is a virtual caregiver with artificial intelligence and voice technology, capable of making more than 100.000 calls a day to schedule a follow-up of the assigned patients. He is not an answering machine or a voice with a fixed message, but he knows what to ask and "understands" what is answered, because he processes all the answers.
Currently, Tucuvi is already working with the professionals of the University Hospital of Torrejón in the elaboration of the clinical follow-up protocols that, in this first phase, will be oriented to the care of patients with chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD and of the heart, like heart failure. But also for acute COVID patients.
Legit Health, for its part, is an application that applies artificial intelligence to the monitoring of dermatological pathologies. It will initially be used with patients already diagnosed with problems of acne, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, urticaria and hidradenitis, and its developers are already working with the Dermatology Service of the Torrejón University Hospital on the protocols and procedures.
The objective is to provide patients with these ailments with access to a platform that allows them to upload photos, following very specific guidelines, and complete some simple questionnaires that include non-visual aspects of these pathologies (if it hurts, itches, bothers , etc). From there, a system interprets the images and its algorithms process the information received, quickly detecting, for example, if acne worsens, psoriasis worsens or dermatitis spreads and alerts the health professional so that they can carry out further follow-up. agile and proactive
Lastly, Freedom and Flow has developed a product called the Wellbeing Score, which, based on questionnaires focused on physical and emotional aspects, the patient's environment and their social environment, analyzes and assesses the general state of well-being of a person in all these dimensions. And based on this assessment, a personalized follow-up plan is established, with recommendations, objectives and actions set by clinical professionals, which will be prescribed for each patient.
The Freedom and Flow team is already working with different specialists from the Povisa de Vigo Hospital to create the profiles and establish the different follow-up plans that allow work on prevention and health promotion in a personalized way.
Tucuvi, Legit Health and Freedom and Flow thus join the other two startups incubated at Ribera Salud -HumanItCare and Serenmind- also in the context of the Lanzadera Corporate program, and which are already applying their pilot projects in various health centers of the health group , with the help of their clinicians.
