- The University Hospitals of Torrevieja, Torrejón and Vinalopó have renewed this demanding international certification that verifies the totality of greenhouse gases emitted into the environment thanks to the implementation of reduction strategies.
Shore Health, In its commitment to the environment, it has recently managed to get AENOR to grant it again the UNE-EN ISO 14064-1 certification for Calculation of Greenhouse Gases, one of the strictest international standards that validates the calculation of the center in the amount of gas emissions (Scope 1 and 2) emitted to the Environment in the University Hospitals of Torrevieja, Torrejon y Vinalopo.
This accreditation certifies that hospitals rigorously comply with the breakdown of the total emissions they emit; which periodically carries out internal and external audits to control consumption; and that every year it sets carbon footprint reduction targets.
Ribera Health Since its opening, it has been implementing a series of measures and actions to improve its impact on the environment. Measures such as the installation of solar panels on windows, closing of balconies, installation of LED lighting, readjustment of air conditioning supply points, or the weekly and monthly review of electricity, natural gas and medical gas meters to analyze consumption stand out among the actions taken.
In addition, the centers have implemented an internal campaign to promote the proper use of lighting that under the slogans "Turn off and let's go" or "press me when you leave" aims to make its professionals aware of turning off the lighting in the rooms when they leave.
Thanks to all these measures and the efforts of all the professionals in the health centers, the carbon footprint has been reduced. From Ribera Salud they assure that "we continue working to continue mitigating the impact of the activity of our hospitals on the Environment".
