Under normal circumstances, more than 2.500 people circulate daily in health centers including patients who attend outpatient consultations, diagnostic tests or other services, admitted patients and companions or visitors. Although it is true that since the first State of Alarm was decreed, health centers have been modifying the protocol and accompanying regulations, current circumstances make it necessary to remember the need to comply with the regulations to minimize contagion and guarantee social distance.

It is mandatory to respect the interpersonal safety distance of 1,5 meters at all times, both in waiting rooms and at counters or consultations. Most of these spaces have signage that establishes safety distances, including seats that can be used in waiting rooms, taking into account the separation between patients. In addition, posters have been distributed to inform about the rules for the use of elevators and toilets.

From the health department they remember that “we understand the discomfort that these measures may cause among citizens, but we must be responsible at this time of the pandemic in which community transmission is not controlled. As health workers, our responsibility will be to take care of patients even more, at a time when we know that they cannot be accompanied and try to make their stay in the center as safe as possible.
