The health group Ribera has won four TOP 20 awards this year, including two global management awards for its university hospitals. Vinalopo y Torrejon. In addition, the latter, the Torrejón University Hospital, has received the TOP 20 award today for its Women's Area, while the hospital Riverside Juan Cardona (Ferrol) has won the TOP 20 award for hospital costs.
The Top 20 are based on the comparison of results between more than 200 Spanish health centers, which voluntarily submit to the evaluation of some thirty indicators, and a scientific commission distinguishes those centers with the best performance and the highest quality and efficiency of care, in aspects such as the efficient management of the hospital stay and surgery without admission, in comparison with the measure of readmissions, complications and mortality, adjusted for risk.
These awards divide hospitals into different categories to facilitate comparison between similarly managed centers and contexts, and recognize the performance of those with the best overall performance across the 120 indicators in the eight clinical areas reviewed. The TOP 20 offer the healthcare sector a tool for improving results, based on quality, performance, and efficiency indicators, in addition to recognizing good practices in the sector.
It so happens that the two public hospitals managed by the Ribera Group, the Vinalopó and Torrejón University Hospitals, have once again won the TOP 20 award for overall management. The healthcare group's management congratulated the professionals at the three award-winning hospitals, as well as those at other group centers that were finalists for these prestigious awards.
