Ribera Lab reinforces Covid testing services and post-vaccination testing at the start of the #Unveranoseguro campaign

    • The laboratory division of the Ribera health group has six extraction points in different parts of the Valencian Community, Galicia and Extremadura
    • Professionals advise confirming the absence of the virus before and after traveling on vacation, as well as validating the presence of antibodies with the post-vaccination test, if 15 days have passed since the last dose.

Ribera Lab, the laboratory division of the Ribera healthcare group, reinforces this week the Covid testing and post-vaccine testing services at the start of the #Unveranoseguro campaign. The six Ribera Lab extraction points they are located in different parts of the Valencian Community, Galicia and Extremadura, where the Ribera group has leading health centers: Ribera Povisa Hospital and Balaidos Stadium car park, in Vigo, and Santo Domingo Clinics in Lugo; Ribera Santa Justa Hospital and Ribera Almendralejo Hospital in Extremadura; and the Alicante-Ribera Lab Immunological Center, in the Torrellano industrial estate, in Elche.

The laboratory division of the Ribera group facilitates all Covid testing, and also advises citizens on the most appropriate, depending on their needs, conditions and possible contacts with positives. The most requested are PCR and antigen tests, but Elisa tests are also available.

In addition, for just over two months, Ribera Lab has offered among its services the performance of a post-vaccination test, in order to confirm the immunity acquired after the administration of the corresponding doses of the Covid vaccine. This test quantifies the IgG directed to the spike of SARS-CoV-2, and in this way, allows us to know with certainty if the vaccination has been effective and we have generated antibodies against the virus.

Different studies indicate that the generation of antibodies varies according to people, because the immune system of each citizen is unique. And this response has been found to be neither identical in citizens who have already received the vaccine nor in those who have passed the virus. "We found patients who develop antibodies 10 days after the onset of symptoms, others 14 days and others, on the other hand, do not have antibodies until 21 days after the onset of symptoms, in the cases of naturally infected patients" , they explain. Therefore, they add, in the case of vaccines "it is best to wait three weeks from the inoculation of the last dose of the vaccine to perform this test and confirm immunity."

From Ribera Lab it is advisable to confirm the absence of the virus before and after traveling on vacation, in order to keep the spread of the virus contained, while the vaccination process continues to advance. In addition, for those who have received both doses of the vaccines, the post-vaccination test is recommended to scientifically validate the presence of antibodies.
