The health group Ribera manages from today the Covadonga Hospital, in Gijón. This health center and the polyclinic associated with it, and located in the center of the city, mark the entry of the Ribera group into Asturias and the growth of its hub of the northwest, where they already have three hospitals and several clinics in the neighboring autonomous community of Galicia.
After the signing of the agreement for the incorporation of the first hospital in Asturias into the Ribera health group, on June 14, today the process of integrating the Covadonga Hospital into the group's structure begins, with a decided commitment to Value Medicine, professionals, the reinforcement of strategic and transversal areas in the group and collaboration with the administration.
The Covadonga Hospital has more than 100 years of history in Gijón and is a benchmark in the Principality's Healthcare. It has 5.200 square meters of facilities completely renovated just two years ago, three operating rooms, an endoscopy room, 35 individual rooms, a 24-hour emergency room, a polyclinic in the center of Gijón and nearly a hundred professionals from 35 specialties. It also has ten specialized units, among others, a Women's Institute, with specialists in breast surgery and reconstruction, a digestive health unit and special tests such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, gastroscopy and ultrasounds, to speed up diagnoses, among others. other services.
With this operation, the Ribera group confirms its desire to expand and also to continue collaborating with the governments of the different regions of Spain, to guarantee the sustainability of health systems. With its expansion, the group's objective is to continue creating synergies and sharing knowledge and technology, as well as an efficient management model of the highest quality, responsible health, based on prevention, technology and excellence in clinical management.
