Ribera manages from today the Hospital Juan Cardona de Ferrol

    • Following the agreement last March with the Santo Hospital de Caridad Foundation, the operation was pending administrative authorizations

The Ribera health group has completed the operation for the management of the Juan Cardona Hospital in Ferrol after the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC) has given the green light. Following the agreement last March with the Santo Hospital de Caridad Foundation, the operation was pending this latest authorization. This agreement does not include the purchase of the property that remains the property of the Foundation.

Since 1974, the Santo Hospital de Caridad Foundation has managed this emblematic benchmark hospital center in Ferrol, and will continue to be linked to the same position that, in addition to continuing to own the property, will maintain all the management of its social work.

With this operation, the Ribera group, specialized in the provision of public and private healthcare services, continues to diversify its field of activity and consolidates its presence in Galician healthcare after the acquisition of the Ribera Povisa de Vigo hospitals in December 2019 and Ribera Polusa and Santo Domingo de Lugo clinics at the end of 2020.

"This operation is one more step in the consolidation of our project in Galicia"

According to Elisa Tarazona, CEO of the Ribera group, this operation represents "one more step in the consolidation of our project in Galicia, where we want to continue contributing to the health system and learning from the great professionals that make it up, with the commitment to continue offering the best service to citizens”

“It is also our responsibility to continue with the great work of the Foundation and give continuity to the excellent team of professionals who make this center a benchmark in the region”, recalls Elisa Tarazona.

For Alberto Lens, President-Big Brother of the Foundation, "this is the best solution to strengthen healthcare in Ferrol and the region, ensure the maintenance of the staff and ownership of the hospital property, which belongs to all Ferrol residents. Likewise, the maintenance of the social benefits provided by this much-loved institution since the end of the XNUMXth century is ensured”.
