Specialized healthcare training, an indicator of hospital quality
Resident training is a key pillar of the healthcare system and a recognized indicator of quality care. In this regard, Ribera has active training programs in three of its hospitals: the Vinalopó University Hospital, the Torrejón University Hospital, and the Ribera Povisa Hospital.
In total, these centers have 191 residents: 87 in Vinalopó (77 medical residents and 10 nursing residents), 68 in Torrejón (63 medical residents and 5 nursing residents), and 36 medical residents in Povisa. The teaching network also accredits 35 programs and 46 medical/nursing residency positions annually, solidifying Ribera's position as a key player in the training of future healthcare professionals. For the 2027 medical residency program, Vinalopó has already announced its new accreditation to train residents in Emergency Medicine.
The simultaneous presence of residents, university students, vocational training students and international students reinforces the teaching character of the group's health centers and their ability to support different stages of the health training pathway.
A model that covers the entire healthcare pathway
The group's training program covers the entire healthcare education pathway: vocational healthcare training at Cepovisa; undergraduate and postgraduate university education at Cepovisa and through agreements with universities; clinical placements in hospitals; and specialized medical residency (MIR and EIR). In addition, continuing education is provided at the hospitals for professionals at all centers.
Thanks to this approach, the group's hospitals are not only healthcare centers but also leading teaching hospitals, with national and international students in training. Currently, 37 international medical students are completing clinical placements at Ribera hospitals, in collaboration with European universities.
The teaching capacity of the Ribera group also extends to Ribera LabThe corporate division for clinical diagnostics, pathology, and laboratory medicine, through ten of its centers located in the Valencian Community, the Community of Madrid, the Region of Murcia, and Galicia, offers nearly 100 annual training places for Nursing and Vocational Training students in the fields of Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory, Pathology and Cytodiagnosis, Diagnostic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, and Dosimetry and Administration. This educational activity fosters practical learning in highly specialized environments equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic technology, contributing to the training of future healthcare professionals and reinforcing the Ribera Group's commitment to educational excellence.
Homogeneous academic management and consolidated teaching network
The academic analysis carried out in the hospitals of Torrejón, Vinalopó and Povisa has made it possible to organize the teaching activity with a group vision, reinforcing a corporate methodology based on common processes, homogeneous criteria, a real map of teaching capacity and a repository of documentation of students, residents and professionals.
This coordination facilitates the traceability of academic activity, improves the management of agreements and contributes to making Ribera's training ecosystem more solid, scalable and recognizable for universities, collaborating institutions and healthcare professionals.
Other private hospitals in the group, such as Ribera Virgen de la Caridad (Cartagena) or Ribera Hospital de Molina (Molina de Segura), also have students from different stages of training doing internships.
