The health group Ribera has published his Sustainability Report 2024 with very positive results in environmental matters, employee well-being, and social commitment. Among the most notable figures is the 217% growth in its own renewable energy production, which now represents a key part of its energy consumption, along with the fact that 42% of its total energy consumption is 100% renewable. This progress reinforces Ribera's strategic commitment to an environmentally friendly activity.
Thanks to awareness campaigns and the use of efficient technologies, Ribera has also managed to reduce energy consumption by 14% and water consumption by 11% in its healthcare centers. It has also reduced Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 6% and 20% respectively, according to data certified by AENOR under the GHG protocol. The organization has also measured Scope 3 emissions for the first time in two of its hospitals, Torrejón and Vinalopó, in line with its goal of advancing more transparent and effective environmental management.
On the environmental front, in addition to the progress in its own energy production, the company also highlights a 20% reduction in total energy consumption and a 6% reduction in waste generation. Ribera maintains its commitment to quality, with 71 certifications in force by 2024, and to an accessible, inclusive, and sustainable healthcare system.

The well-being of professionals, a priority
In the social sphere, the group has strengthened its program Ribera Life, a comprehensive initiative that promotes the physical, emotional, professional, and social well-being of its more than 9.200 professionals, 72% of whom are women and 100% of whom are covered by a collective bargaining agreement. In 2024 alone, Ribera provided more than 102.400 hours of training, a 13% increase over the previous year, with adaptations for each professional category.
This training plan covers both healthcare content and non-clinical skills related to management, quality, digital innovation, and the prevention of gender-based violence. In fact, 1.297 hours of specific training on harassment and gender-based violence were provided, as part of the group's commitment to equal opportunities, respect for diversity, and inclusion. In this regard, Ribera has internal regulations and codes, such as the Code of Ethics and the Code of Conduct.
Ribera also stands out for its promotion of family-life balance and flexible compensation. The Ribera Flex system allows benefits to be tailored to individual priorities, and corporate agreements exist to provide services with advantageous conditions for the workforce. Ninety percent of structural contracts are permanent, and more than 90% of management positions are held by women, a significant increase compared to 12. Likewise, the current Equality Plans promote improved conditions for women, LGBTI professionals, and people with disabilities.
Commitment to the environment and social causes
Finally, the Sustainability Report also includes the Ribera's impact on its environment closest. 15 patient advisory councils have been held with more than 100 associations, and more than 200 activities have been organized in collaboration with local town councils and associations for health promotion. Special mention should be made of the “DANA Solidarity” campaign, which, in collaboration with the Ribera Salud Foundation, organized volunteer teams, as well as a donation campaign to help rebuild the social and healthcare network of the affected populations. The management of the Ribera healthcare group emphasizes that “our responsible healthcare model focuses on all those actions that contribute to development and the local economy, promoting a healthier lifestyle, and making the healthcare system more accessible on equal terms to the entire population.” Among others, Ribera highlights collaborations such as that of I walk, programs like Active Ribera which promotes sport and health, or guided tours for patients with functional diversity, workshops, conferences and talks on health promotion and humanization programs such as Rhythms of Life.
