El Ribera Almendralejo Hospital has set up five external consultations and a Covid testing service during the first year of management Ribera healthcare group, all key services to improve health care and take care of the health and well-being of the citizens of Almendralejo and its area of influence. The specialists have treated 530 patients in just six months in these new Cardiology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Hair Surgery and General Medicine clinics and almost a hundred Covid tests have been carried out, to help contain the spread of the virus in the population .
In addition, the hospital has received and treated a total of 180 patients, who have been admitted to Ribera Almendralejo, referred by the Extremadura Health Service (SES).
Ribera Almendralejo's relationship with entities and groups in the municipality is increasingly close. In fact, in this first year of management by the Ribera group, hospital professionals have collaborated in different initiatives related to health education and prevention, giving talks in local schools and participating in Health Week who organizes the Town Hall, with a stand for carrying out blood pressure and blood glucose check-ups for citizens.
In 2022, it is expected that this health center will set up its own laboratory integrated with Ribera Lab, the laboratory division of the Ribera health group, which will allow all types of diagnostic tests to be carried out, not only for patients admitted or who come for consultation, but also for any citizen who needs an analysis.
The next start-up of the new Physiotherapy service is also planned, with equipment that has already been acquired, and which will shortly provide rehabilitation and functional recovery treatments both to hospital patients and to citizens who require any of the therapies of this new service.
In the medium term, the Ribera Almendralejo hospital will present a reform and expansion project to complete the center's portfolio of services, with operating rooms and a short-stay hospitalization area, in addition to the beds it already has for medium- and long-stay patients. .
