The new Clinic of Ribera en San JavierLocated in the center of the municipality and focused on providing modern, accessible, and patient-centered healthcare, the hospital celebrated its official opening yesterday at an institutional event attended by numerous authorities, representatives of the health sector, business leaders, and healthcare professionals from the Mar Menor region.
The new center offers a broad portfolio of medical and surgical specialties, as well as services in physiotherapy, radiodiagnosis, dentistry, minor surgery, psychology, pediatrics, gynecology, nutrition, and cardiology, among others.
The clinic has a usable area of over 450 square meters, with two separate entrances: the main entrance, on Calderón de la Barca Street, leads to the general reception and physiotherapy area; and a side entrance, on Cervantes Street, which connects directly to the dental clinic, equipped with three offices.
The opening ceremony began with a speech by the managing director of the Ribera hospitals in Cartagena and the group's clinics in the Region of Murcia, who emphasized that this new opening "represents an investment in well-being, the future, and trust," and stressed that the new center "makes a comprehensive service available to the residents of San Javier in completely renovated facilities designed to offer excellent healthcare and patient experience."
For his part, the mayor of San Javier, Mr. José Miguel Luengo Gallego, took the floor to thank the Ribera group for its commitment to the municipality: “This is a joy and a source of gratitude for us. Today I want to thank you again for your commitment to San Javier, for creating such interesting partnerships that we are celebrating with this new clinic. This is an example of the direction society should take: organizations and institutions coming together to care for our residents.”
The event was also attended by the manager of the Murcia Health Service, Isabel Ayala Vigueras, who closed the institutional event by highlighting the importance of public-private collaboration: "To provide the healthcare that all citizens of the Region of Murcia need, this type of collaboration is essential. We thank Ribera for its professionalism, the quality of its facilities, and its constant focus on improving care for the population, both those who choose its services directly and those we refer from the public health system."
Ayala also highlighted the role of the new clinics in the context of an aging population and chronic conditions: "We are facing one of the best healthcare systems in the world, with highly qualified professionals, increasingly early diagnoses, and more advanced treatments. Centers like this one help improve the quality of care and, above all, the quality of life of citizens."
Also attending the event were the Councilor for Sports, Sergio Martínez Ros; the Councilor for Health, María José Bernal; the Managing Director of Area VIII of the Mar Menor, Mr. Rafael Gomis Cebrián; representatives of the local and regional business community (Himonsa, GS10, Alpefran); healthcare companies such as ASSA and Sanitas; insurance companies; law firms; and the medical and healthcare teams from the clinic and the Ribera Santa Lucía Hospital in Cartagena.
