A second report concludes that the Quality and Patient Safety Areas meet the objectives of the Madrid Health Service
- Technicians from the General Directorate of Health Inspection and Regulation have positively assessed the common principles that all SERMAS hospitals must develop.
- This is in addition to the satisfactory review of the sterilization center's records, the verification of the material stored in the cardiology-hemodynamics unit, and the inspection of waste and storage areas.
A second report from the Madrid Regional Ministry of Health, following last week's inspection at the Torrejón University Hospital, concludes that the Quality and Patient Safety Areas meet the objectives set by the Madrid Health Service (SERMAS) for all hospitals in the region.
This document adds to the first one, carried out through the General Directorate of Health Inspection and Regulation, which stated that there was no evidence of the reuse of single-use health products at the University Hospital of Torrejón.
This second report has concluded that, with regard to the quality of care and patient safety, work has been done correctly in all audited areas and in accordance with the objectives indicated in the Program Contract of the Madrid Health Service.
The Regional Ministry of Health establishes annual common objectives that all hospitals in the region must achieve. The Department of Humanization, Care, and Patient Safety measures five indicators, the fulfillment of which is verified by the Health Assessment Area. These indicators include actions taken to improve perceived quality; actions that advance patient safety; actions related to promoting safe practices; actions focused on pain management; and actions aimed at consolidating quality management.
In all of them the result has been satisfactory, thus concluding all the actions that have been necessary to carry out to verify that the practice, both in terms of care and quality, at the University Hospital of Torrejón has been adequate.
