The professionals from the Ribera Salud ICUs unite in a great collective applause of mutual recognition of teamwork

Effort, teamwork and responsibility are some of the values that all the professionals at the Ribera Salud hospitals have exhibited in the last eight weeks, due to the Public Health crisis caused by COVID19. But in the case of professionals from the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and the Post Anesthetic Resuscitation Units (PACUs), their dedication has been absolute, in extreme situations, with the most vulnerable patients and with the overexertion and the conditioning factors that have resulted protection protocols, for the good and safety of patients and the professionals themselves.

That is why, at the initiative of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Intensive and Critical Medicine and Coronary Units (SEMICYUC), of which the head of the Intensive Medicine Service of the Torrejón University Hospital, Mª Cruz Martín, all the professionals of the ICUs and PACUs of our centers – university hospitals of Torrevieja, Vinalopo y Torrejon y Povisa Hospital (Vigo) – have participated today in a mutual recognition in the form of collective applause, from all for all, for their dedication to the most critical patients. The objective, as explained by Dr. Martín, has been "to thank, recognize and encourage all the staff, from Nursing to assistants and support staff, because they have all been a great example of sacrifice and a job well done".

In all the ICUs and PACUs of the hospitals of Ribera Health the scenes of emotion have been repeated, companionship and mutual gratitude among the professionals of these services, for their commitment and sacrifice to offer the best health care, always full of humanity, to patients. “It has been a team effort in which all the staff have played a special and fundamental role”, pointed out Dr. Martín.
