The well-being of our patients and their families is the priority for our professionals.

For us, each patient is unique. And for that reason, we adapt to your needs and priorities to guarantee that you receive, at all times, excellent health care and the best personal treatment.

A complete Patient Guide can be downloaded in this section, but we summarize some highlights below.

    Medical information

All the medical information you need will be provided to you by the doctor who assumes responsibility for your care. To ensure your right to confidentiality, the doctor will inform only people you designate.

The nurse can give you information about the care you are receiving. As a general criterion, telephone information will not be provided due to the need to maintain the confidentiality of each patient's clinical process.

Point 1 of article 4 of Law 41/2002 of November 14, on Patient Autonomy, rights and obligations regarding information and clinical documentation, literally states that “patients have the right to know, due to any action in the scope of their health, all the information available about it, except for those cases excepted by the Law. Furthermore, every person has the right to have their wish not to be informed respected...

    Informed consent

Any action in the field of a patient's health requires the free and voluntary consent of the affected person, once the planned information has been received and after the options of the case have been assessed. The information, which as a general rule will be provided verbally, leaving a record in the clinical history, includes at least the purpose and nature of each intervention, its risks and consequences.

Article 8 of Law 41/2002 specifies that in order to perform any surgical intervention or certain examinations, the patient's written consent is necessary. To do this, your doctor will explain to you what the intervention or examination that he is going to undergo consists of, why it is going to be performed, what the risks are and what the expected benefits are for your health. You will be given an information sheet on all these aspects, which you must read carefully and sign (patient or legal representative) so that said intervention or examination can be carried out.

If you have any questions, you can contact your doctor for clarification.

    Participate in your care

The responsible health model of all the Ribera group hospitals involves the patient in the entire circuit that is enabled for their care.

Therefore, we advise you to talk to your doctor and nurse about your treatment. Make sure you understand what they are explaining to you and agree with everything. Don't be afraid to ask something again if you don't fully understand it or have questions.

Sometimes you will receive a lot of information at the same time, which can make it difficult to understand or cause uncertainty. You may wish to have a family member accompany you during the explanation of treatment, care, diagnosis or test results. Let us know. If possible, designate a family member to talk to doctors if necessary. This person can then inform the rest of the family members, if you wish.

    Nursing mother's rights

The admission of a nursing mother who wishes to continue breastfeeding will entail the accompaniment of the baby during his or her hospital stay, if desired and as long as there is no contraindication on the part of the responsible doctor.

    For your safety

At the time of admission you will be given Patient Safety Instructions. Please read them carefully and follow the recommended guidelines.

Maintain good personal hygiene. It is necessary to maintain health and the rules of coexistence. If you need information or help, consult the Nursing staff.

Hand washing is the most effective hygiene measure to prevent hospital infections. Wash your hands frequently and remind visitors to do the same.
