The Ribera Povisa Hospital held its 15th Patient Council meeting. On this occasion, ADROVI, the Vigo Association of Organ Donors and Recipients, was the focus of the session.
A total of 14 associations from the Vigo metropolitan area participated in the 15th meeting of the Patients' Council, an organization that was launched in May 2022, with the aim of creating a space for dialogue between patients and healthcare professionals on the current issues that concern them most.
During the board meeting, Vanessa Álvarez, recently appointed as head of the Patient Experience Department, was introduced. Additionally, dentist María Fernández presented the project “Care for Children and Patients with Special Needs,” an initiative carried out in close collaboration with Ribera Povisa and aimed at adapting dental care to the specific characteristics and needs of different groups.
ADROVI, the Vigo Association of Organ Donors and Recipients, was the focus of this session. Its director, Celso García, presented the activities they are carrying out to increase the number of organ and tissue donors, such as information and donor recruitment campaigns, poster displays, and events recognizing and thanking donors and their families.
Furthermore, at the meeting presented by nurse Paula Martín, supervisor of the Dialysis Unit and Day Hospital, the main new developments implemented by the hospital in recent months were shared. Among the topics discussed were the boost given to clinical trials, the achievements of our professionals, the improvements implemented in services and facilities, and the promotion of sports, among others.
