Ribera Povisa celebrates that 13 MIRs have completed their training at the hospital

The Ribera Povisa hospital has organized an official farewell ceremony for a new class of residents and celebrates that thirteen doctors completed their training period as specialists at the Vigo center.

The 13 professionals who have completed their residency have trained in the specialties of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation (1), General and Digestive Surgery (1), Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (1), Internal Medicine (2), Radiodiagnosis (2), and Family and Community Medicine (6). They have received a commemorative gift for their time at the healthcare center and a graduation photo; and most will now continue working at the hospital that has offered them employment contracts.

The celebration was attended by the managing director of Ribera Povisa, Dr. Ángela Guerra; the assistant director, Dr. Emma Iglesias; the head of studies and president of the teaching committee, Dr. Javier de la Fuente; as well as the tutors and colleagues from the different services that have been part of the residency years of the new specialists.

In addition, Dr. Antonio Antela López, specialist in Internal Medicine and Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Santiago de Compostela, was in charge of the presentation at the event, entitled: “Milestones in HIV infection. A brief history of a prolonged pandemic”.

The Ribera healthcare group maintains its strong commitment to training as one of its global strategic priorities. Ribera Povisa Hospital is currently the only private hospital in Galicia offering residency training (MIR).

Ribera operates the Ribera Povisa Private Center in Vigo, which offers a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, as well as intermediate and advanced vocational training qualifications related to the healthcare sector. Since last year, it has also offered the option of completing all these vocational training courses online and has opened enrollment for the Master's degree in Advanced Practice Nursing in Emergency and Intensive Care.
