Julia Camps Lecture: What do we do for our patients?

Dr. Julia Camps, corporate director of the Breast Area of the Ribera health group, starred yesterday in the presentation "What do we do for our patients?", at the Wagner Theater in Aspe, by the hand of MACMA, Aspe Association of Women with Breast Cancer (Alicante). Dozens of women from all over the province of Alicante attended the talk, interested in learning about the latest advances in Radiology, Pathology, Oncoplastic Surgery and Oncology from the Ribera group.

Dr. Camps spoke in this talk about the uniqueness of the group's Breast Area, made up of a multidisciplinary team of 50 of the best professionals in Spain, which provides patients with a shared program, with personalized attention and the best technology to assess and address each case jointly and transversally. He explained how contrast-enhanced 3D mammographs detect small 4-mm lesions that are not seen on a conventional mammograph, the importance of performing the genetic signature in the initial biopsy to propose the best clinical approach for the patient, the commitment to conservative surgery and also for complete reconstruction in the case of mastectomies, with nipple tattoo included in several Ribera hospitals, among other advantages for their patients. “It is important that patients from all the municipalities where we offer health coverage know the philosophy behind the project that seeks to integrate all professionals in the breast area to improve procedures, combine criteria and, in short, ensure that our patients are diagnosed and treated identically regardless of the hospital where they are”, said Dr. Camps.
