- The hospitals of Torrevieja, La Ribera and Denia have been awarded in the last edition of the TOP 20 Awards in the categories of Best Trajectory 2010-2015, Best Implementation of the ICD-10-ES and Best Global Management.
- In total, the hospitals of the Ribera Salud group accumulate 48 awards from this annual program in which public and private centers from all over the national territory participate.
- Together with the La Fe, Arnau de Vilanova, General de Castellón and Elda hospitals, they are the only public hospitals in the Valencian Community recognized in this edition. Of the seven award-winning hospitals, three are privately managed.
The three public hospitals managed by the Ribera Salud group in the Valencian Community have once again placed themselves on the prestigious TOP 20 list, a ranking that measures each year the quality of public and private hospital centers throughout Spain. Specifically, the hospitals of Torrevieja, La Ribera and Denia have obtained a total of seven awards, in different categories. Together with the La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital, the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital, the Castellón General University Hospital and the Elda University Hospital, they have been the only public centers in the Valencian Community that have been recognized in this national hospital benchmarking programme. Of these seven, three hospitals are privately managed.
El Torrevieja University Hospital has won the prize in the special category of Best Career 2010-2015, for having remained in TOP positions during the last five years. An award that has only been given to four hospitals in all of Spain and that highlights the excellent work carried out by the center. In this sense, the Torrevieja center has been distinguished for its balance of results in all areas and clinical processes, after measuring indicators of efficiency, quality and adequacy.
El University Hospital of La Ribera has been distinguished for his good work in the implementation of the ICD-10-ES. It is a reference classification for clinical coding and morbidity registration in Spain. This coding integrates two classification systems, one for diseases for coding diagnoses and another for procedures. For his part, he Hospital de Denia, where the group has a 35% shareholding, has been awarded the TOP 20 award in the category of Best Career 2010-2015 and in Global Hospital Management.
With these new awards, the hospital centers of the Ribera Salud group accumulate 48 Top 20 awards that distinguish the good work carried out. The management team of the centers have expressed their satisfaction for the inclusion of the hospitals they run in the prestigious TOP 20 list and have valued the awards as a recognition of Valencian public health, the public-private collaboration model, and above all the work and commitment of its professionals to offer the highest quality care.
In this edition, 146 hospitals from 15 Autonomous Communities have participated voluntarily. This is an investigation carried out annually by the consultancy Iasist and evaluated by a Scientific Commission made up of various academic authorities, clinics, etc. and an Advisory Commission made up of representatives of the different health services. The Scientific Commission acts as a consultative body for the technical, methodological and scientific aspects of the project to gradually introduce improvements in this area. The objective of the TOP 20 Program is to identify patterns of good practice and recognize the work of those centers that have obtained the best results in the evaluation process.
