A heat wave hits a large part of Spain hard, especially the south and interior of the Valencian Community, including the province of Alicante, as well as Murcia, Andalusia and a large part of the center and southwest of the peninsula, all of which are areas that are on red alert, with temperatures above 40 degrees, which can exceed 42 degrees in some municipalities.
Although this wave is expected to pass quickly, the professionals from the Ribera health group recall a series of recommendations to prevent high temperatures and exposure to the sun during these days of intense heat from affecting the health of citizens in general and patients in In particular, so that they can enjoy the summer and the holidays in a safe and responsible way or continue with their work and their daily routine, in the case of not being on vacation yet.
“It is important to hydrate frequently, without feeling thirsty, and without abusing caffeinated drinks, alcohol or soft drinks. Try to be in cool places, in the shade or in air-conditioned spaces and avoid sun exposure and sports during the central hours of the day, especially between 11:00 and 17:00, as well as wearing light clothing and light in color, which also allows the skin to perspire ”, they affirm from the Emergency Service of the Hospital Universitario del Vinalopó (Elche).
