    Clinical research has become established as one of the main strategic pillars of the healthcare group. RiberaWithin its responsible healthcare model and its commitment to healthcare innovation, medical excellence, and the generation of scientific knowledge, the Ribera Group managed a total of 77 clinical trials across its various hospitals and 63 observational studies during 2025, in addition to 264 scientific publications and multicenter collaborative projects in different specialties.

    In the context of International Clinical Trials Day, Ribera highlights the development of this activity, which is carried out through its corporate Research area, comprised of 144 research professionals within the group and considered the organization's knowledge center. This area has been designed to provide Ribera's healthcare professionals with technical resources, methodological support, analytical tools, and governance procedures that enable them to optimize research results and bring innovative therapeutic alternatives to patients.

    Mercedes Gozalbo, Corporate Director of Research at the Ribera healthcare group, explains that “in the research area, together with our professionals, we promote clinical research studies and projects, and we have the necessary resources, tools, and methodology to facilitate clinical trials, observational studies, and high-impact scientific publications.”

    Specialties and hospitals with the highest research activity

    Among the hospitals managed by the Ribera group with the highest research activity, the following stand out: Torrejón University HospitalWith 34 clinical trials and 28 observational studies planned for 2025, the areas of Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, and Obstetrics are leading the way in clinical trials and observational studies. Other specialties in Torrejón conducting cutting-edge research include Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Pediatrics, and Pulmonology.

    Torrejón is followed in terms of research activity in clinical trials and observational studies by the University Hospital of Vinalopowith 12 clinical trials and 16 observational studies managed in 2025. In the case of this hospital of the group, located in Elche, the areas of Hematology, Medical Oncology, Neurology and Allergology are the most outstanding and prolific.

    Hospital Ribera PovisaFor its part, it registered six clinical trials and six observational studies in 2025, with a strong presence in the areas of Internal Medicine, Neurology, Allergology, and Pulmonology, in addition to Medical Oncology. And finally, Ribera Polusa It closed 2025 with seven clinical trials and one observational study, all of them related to the area of ​​Nephrology.
