With the arrival of Christmas, the specialists in Preventive Medicine of the Ribera healthcare group They have prepared a decalogue with the keys to living safe family holidays.

Among the prevention measures to try to avoid contagion during the Christmas holidays, Ribera professionals highlight hand hygiene as a key factor in stopping the virus. Dr. Vicente García Román, head of the Ribera Preventive Medicine Service in the hospitals of Vinalopo y Torrevieja, remember that “we must maximize hand hygiene, either with a hydroalcoholic solution or with soap and water. In addition, to do it correctly we must remove rings, bracelets, earrings or watches as well as keep our nails short and without nail polish ”, he explains. Dr. García Román recommends the use of a mask as long as possible, regardless of the state of immunity against the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). "Remember, also, that it is very important that when coughing or sneezing we cover our mouth and nose, with a flexed elbow or with a disposable handkerchief, which should be thrown away immediately in the trash, as well as avoiding touching your eyes, nose and the mouth, since the hands facilitate the transmission of the virus.

Maintaining a safety distance of at least one meter is also very important to minimize contact, as well as respecting the established limited capacity. Additionally, Ribera professionals recommend maximizing ventilation with windows and doors open, to the extent that is safe and feasible. In addition, they insist on making the population aware of the good results of the bubble groups and the importance of minimizing the number of contacts.
