- The Breast Unit has already begun to carry out the first tattoos with micropigmentation of the nipple-areola complex in mastectomy patients.
- This procedure, which is performed in the office in just 30 minutes and is painless, aims to restore body image and improve the quality of life of patients.
The Breast Unit of the Vinalopó University Hospital, managed by the health group Ribera, offers comprehensive solutions to patients with breast cancer and has become the first center in the province of Alicante to carry out 3D tattoos of the nipple-areola complex.
To do this, he uses the traditional tattoo technique, giving a 3D appearance to the area to be treated. The procedure is performed in the office and only lasts 30 minutes, it is painless, semi-permanent (it requires much less revision than micropigmentation) and it provides patients with a very real result.
Tattoo care is the same as any other that a patient performs on his body: it must be covered for the first 24 hours, regular skin washing and hydration. "Thanks to the incorporation of this technique in our portfolio of services, patients recover their appearance before surgery, helping to improve their self-esteem and confidence," explains Dr. Lorenzo Rabadán, surgical coordinator of the Breast Area of the Ribera health group. Dr. Rabadán adds that with the nipple tattoo "the breast reconstruction ends."
The testimonials of the patients accredit the good results of this technique and the comprehensive care provided by the Breast Area in the different Ribera hospitals. You can see some testimonials here. The women feel that they can pass the stage.
