Elche – January 24 of 2021. In response to release of the Ministry of Health in which it urges the concessionaire of the Vinalopó Health Department to take action against Dr. Mª Ángeles Medina for her statements yesterday on the La Sexta Noche program, we clarify that this professional, who works as a primary care physician , is STATUTORY and that it is the Ministry itself that must take the appropriate disciplinary measures.
It is surprising that the Ministry of Health is unaware that this doctor is part of its own staff. However, the manager of the Department, Rafael Carrasco, has already contacted the Commissioner of the Ministry at the Hospital del Vinalopó, as head of the statutory staff, to inform him of this circumstance and they can initiate the procedures they deem appropriate.
The center's management already stated yesterday on social networks that Dr. Medina's statements in no way represented the center where she works and distanced herself from her participation in the program.
Doctor Medina, who is also President of the Valencian Society of Family and Community Medicine, stated yesterday on the program, among other things, that the chapel of the General University Hospital of Eche had become a morgue.
