El Ribera Almendralejo Hospital commitment to personalized physiotherapy and occupational therapy to help chronic patients to regain maximum independence and autonomy, with special attention to sensory and motor functions that will allow them to improve their quality of life. The center, run by the Ribera healthcare group, has a multidisciplinary team made up of physicians specialized in palliative care, expert professionals in sensory and motor rehabilitation, and nursing staff and assistants with experience in these areas, who care for chronic patients 24 hours a day.
The care coordinator of the Ribera Almendralejo Hospital, Mamen Macías, explains that the Ribera Almendralejo Hospital "has proven experience in caring for complex chronic patients, to whom we offer comprehensive and personalized care, to achieve maximum functional and cognitive recovery based on of his pathology and his state of health, thanks to personalized physiotherapy plans and occupational therapy”.
After an initial assessment of the patient, a specific plan is drawn up for each one, with monitoring of the clinical situation in the medium and long term, psychological and social care and planning of interventions and rehabilitation, "always in a model of shared decision-making with the patient, whenever possible, and of course with the family”. In addition, he adds, "we provide them with training for the care and management of the patient", although the medium-term objective is, according to the coordinator, "to create a Humanization commission and within this, the Family School project".
At present, the Ribera Almendralejo hospital has launched new external consultations for Cardiology, Gynecology, Traumatology and General Surgery, and has reinforced services such as Physiotherapy. The objective is to expand and improve health care for the citizens of the municipality and also for those of its entire area of influence.
In addition, in the context of the pandemic in which we live, the center facilitates the possibility of having any of the Covid testing, as well as the post-vaccination test, to determine the level of antibodies developed after immunization. The summer campaign has already started, with the consequent reinforcement of this service, through the laboratory division of the group, Ribera Lab, to facilitate and expedite this type of tests before and after the trips that the citizens of this area schedule for this summer.
The Ribera Almendralejo hospital has reached agreements with the main health insurers and has renewed its page website to improve communication channels with their patients.
About the hospital and the Ribera group
Since January 2021, the bank group manages the Almendralejo Hospital, following an agreement with cajalmendralejo, with the aim of converting this center into a first-rate hospital and socio-sanitary complex in Extremadura. The agreement with the Almendralejo Town Hall and the Extremadura Health Service make this hospital an example of public-private collaboration, to which the Ribera group offers its experience and proven excellence, after more than two decades of managing health centers in national and international projects. In Spain, Ribera is present in four Autonomous Communities and manages eight hospitals, four of them university, and more than 60 health centers in the Valencian Community, Madrid Community, Galicia and Extremadura. It has several international projects, as well as a purchasing center, Ribera b2b, a Futurs technology division and a Ribera lab division. Ribera's shareholders are the American insurance company Centene Corporation (90%) and Banco Sabadell (10%).
The Ribera group is working on the renovation of the infrastructures of the Ribera Almendralejo hospital, together with Cajalmendralejo, owner of the facility. Currently, the hospital has 60 professionals, but the health group's commitment to the project will mean the creation of new direct and indirect jobs, as well as involvement in the social, business and cultural fabric of the municipality, with initiatives focused on prevention and health education.
