The Ribera health group and the University of Vigo sign the creation of the new Ribera Povisa Chair in Health Innovation that will develop programs and activities aimed at enhancing knowledge in the area of Health Sciences.
At the presentation of this agreement, held on Friday, June 14 in the Redeiras building of the UVigo, the Rector of the University of Vigo, Manuel Reigosa, was present; the president of the Ribera health group and President of the Board of Trustees of the Ribera Povisa University School of Nursing, Alberto de Rosa; the managing director of the Ribera Povisa Hospital, Ángela Guerra; and the director of the EUE Ribera Povisa, Manuel Torres.
“We feel especially satisfied to continue deepening our collaboration with the University of Vigo. This chair demonstrates our commitment not only to the University but also to the educational sector in general, which is so important, and which will continue to play a fundamental role in Health. Furthermore, it demonstrates the commitment of the Ribera health group to our professionals who will be able to improve their training and academic level, which will result in an improvement in the quality of care for citizens," says the president of the Ribera health group, Alberto de Rosa.
For his part, the Rector of the University of Vigo, Manuel Reigosa, adds: “participating in improving the lives of citizens is something fundamental for us. We want to continue working hand in hand with the Ribera health group and take advantage of this Chair to strengthen what for us is the future: training and research at the highest level of professionals, on topics that ultimately benefit all citizens. And the transfer of knowledge on nursing issues is immediate. “Patients are going to get many benefits.”
Ribera Povisa Chair in Health Innovation
The new Ribera Povisa Chair, directed by Vicente Romo Pérez, professor at the Faculty of Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Vigo, launches an academic-professional development program that, among other issues, will help achieve of the doctorate title to the teachers of the Ribera Povisa University School of Nursing through its incorporation into the UVigo doctoral programs.
In addition, the Chair will promote the use of new techniques and tools with which to provide cutting-edge resources to students and professionals in the field. Ribera Povisa University School of Nursing, a center attached to the University of Vigo.
In order to meet the strategic objectives of this new collaboration framework, the implementation of courses and teaching activities aimed at the beginning of research activity will be promoted, as well as the publication of scientific articles. Other planned activities are the creation of the Ribera Povisa Award for Research in Health Innovation and a Postgraduate Course for Expert in Research in Health Sciences.
