    The Ribera group adheres to the Pact for Sustainable Cybersecurity to help reduce the carbon footprint

    •  The objective is to promote practices that promote online safety and principles of sustainability, to achieve an appropriate balance between technological development and the preservation of the environment.
    • On International Information Security Day, Ribera recalls that the parameter for measuring sustainable cybersecurity is the 'Cyber ​​Green Proof' seal, which ratifies entities' commitment to sustainability in terms of cybersecurity and will serve as a reference for good practices

    The health group Ribera has recently joined the Pact for Sustainable Cybersecurity, an initiative launched by a working group of the ISMS Forum, during the 'Cybersecurity, key to the transformation of critical areas' conference, which was held last July.

    The objective of this pact is to promote practices that promote online security and, at the same time, principles of sustainability, to achieve a balance between technological development and the preservation of the environment. On International Information Security Day, the Ribera group highlights that it is very committed to the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda in all areas and in each of its hospital projects, Primary Care centers and clinics. In fact, since 2020, Ribera has reduced its carbon footprint by 40%, based on emissions data per unit of hospital production (uph), verified by the independent entity. Aenor. And its affiliation to the Pact for Sustainable Cybersecurity confirms that it covers all areas. The Pact for Sustainable Cybersecurity stands as the first reference framework in relation to this area, within the 2030 Agenda in the sector.

    As stated on the website of ISMS, the commitments of this initiative consist of eight points, among which governance, transparency, energy efficiency, circular economy, responsible management of electronic waste, collaboration and dissemination, sustainable standards and collaboration in the supply chain stand out. “These eight factors seek to address the challenges of cybersecurity in a sustainable manner, taking into account economic, social and environmental aspects, with the aim of guaranteeing the protection of information and digital systems in a responsible and respectful manner with the environment and society”, they point out from the entity.

    The director of Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Ribera group, Manuel Bosch, assures that “our commitment to protecting the environment and reducing the carbon footprint is firm in all areas, due to our commitment to the 2030 Agenda and also to its influence on the health and well-being of citizens and patients in the area of ​​our hospitals, Primary Care centers and clinics.” For his part, Luis Pérez Pau, head of the Information Security Area, assures that this Pact is a very important step in the integration of sustainability in Cybersecurity. “The extension of digitalization in companies has to be compatible with security, data protection and care for the environment,” he explains.
