    The Ribera group commemorates Women's Day and reaffirms its commitment to equality plans and continuous training

    • Five of its health centers have female managers and more than 4.500 female professionals work in the group, who take care of the health and well-being of citizens and research and innovate to improve physical and emotional care.
    • Its CEO, Dr. Elisa Tarazona, has been chosen as one of the TOP 100 women leaders in Spain and leads an organization in which 56% of middle managers are women.

    Valencia, March 8 2024 – Women are the majority in the healthcare sector and the group Ribera is not an exception. More than 74% of its professionals are women, who also occupy 59% of management positions. It currently has five managing directors in as many of its health centers, and four women in the group's Management Committee, led by its CEO, Elisa Tarazona. For all these reasons, Ribera commemorates Women's Day "with the pride of leading in the health sector the effective application of equality and training policies and plans, which promote the career and internal promotion of our professionals," explains Tarazona, who She is also a doctor and, furthermore, she has just been chosen as one of the TOP 100 women leaders in Spain, in the ranking created in 2011 by Mercedes Wullich to give visibility to female talent.

    Ribera is a group that has a turnover of almost 1.000 million, is present in five autonomous communities of Spain and in five countries (in addition to Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Peru), in addition to consulting work in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia and Kuwait). It has more than 8.500 professionals, twelve hospitals, 14 Primary Care centers, 58 polyclinics and 46 quality accreditations.

    For the CEO of the health group, female leadership in Ribera “is true, is present in decision-making, is aligned with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provides plurality, diversity, the reality of inclusive policies , a lot of creativity and two very important keys to success in teams: empathy and professionalism.”

    Elisa Tarazona is convinced that the present predicts a future for Healthcare “in feminine”. But to do this, she adds, “it is very important to support equality education.” “Increasingly, professionals have more demanding and global training, which makes us more qualified to care for health from a holistic point of view,” explains the CEO of Ribera, who adds that “the incorporation of women to Medicine, I am sure that it has influenced the decrease in the approach to the disease with this androcentric vision.” To achieve this, she insists, “diverse, plural training without gender or any other conditions is key.”

    To girls and young people who think about linking their future to Science, Elisa Tarazona advises them to “prepare well and work hard for the goals they want to achieve, to be brave and have ambition and the desire to always learn.” Furthermore, she insists on the importance of “feeling free to do what they really want.”

    Commit to equality training

    For years, the Ribera healthcare group has made a firm commitment to training the principles of equality among its professionals, to consolidate the company's values ​​at all levels of the organization. That is why Ribera provides more than 5.000 hours of training in equality and non-discrimination to its professionals and has conciliation, equality and non-discrimination plans and protocols against gender violence. In addition, its Code of Ethics, of general application to all professionals, has a specific section that describes and protects these values.

    On the other hand, Ribera has a flexibility policy that allows for the reconciliation of personal and professional life, responding to each situation individually through different options such as teleworking or adaptations to the day. “We do not believe in standards, that is why we apply personalization to meet the needs and motivations of each of our professionals,” they say from his People Department, which continually search for talent for its different departments and areas.
