Anesthesiologist

The Pain Unit is specialized in the treatment of complex pain, both chronic and acute. Doctors have the necessary training to treat them medically and/or pharmacologically. They know and understand what it means for a person's life, and for this reason they take each patient's description of pain very seriously.
Pain has personal characteristics and cannot be extrapolated to another person.
When to see a specialist:
○ Suffer severe pain
○ Want to look for an alternative to surgery
○ You received surgery and it has not alleviated the pain, or it has generated pain
○ The pain medication prescribed by your doctor is no longer sufficient to alleviate the pain

Although the Pain Unit is coordinated by an anesthesiologist, we treat the patient in a holistic and comprehensive manner, which is why other specialists from the center are made available to the patient, such as physiotherapists, traumatologists, psychologists and nutritionists who complement the work and the techniques used by the anesthesiologist, with the idea that the benefit of the applied treatments lasts over time and is not limited to the time of consultation or intervention.

It is comprehensive care that offers the patient:
○ Nursing Staff: Our nursing staff is in charge of cures, medication administration and health education, among other services.
○ Physiotherapy: After an operation, whatever it may be, it is essential to maintain activity, or failing that, recover it as soon as possible. It is necessary to reduce postoperative discomfort such as inflammation and pain, and at the same time avoid complications.
○ Nutritionist: We adapt the diet to the current condition of the patient to facilitate their recovery through a good diet.
